I went to the zoo today with Erica and Joel. Joel liked the lion and the butterflies. I liked the monkeys and the catfish. Erica liked the monkeys and seals.
It was pretty cool.
I wondered if the animals minded being stuck in cages. Most of them looked like they were having good time but the gorillas looked a bit grumpy - they were stuck inside because it was so cold.
At one point Joel tried to scale the fence into the seal enclosure. I wanted to see what would happen if he went in but Erica grabbed him pretty quickly.
The best bit about the trip is that I got in free because I had a beard! The zoo were offering beard-wearers free entry for the day and thankfully I hadn’t listened to Erica begging me to shave that morning.
It was a cool promotion - but a little freaky seeing hundreds of women wearing dodgy fake beards. Joel thought they were animals.
